About

The four-floor, newly renovated Wahlstrom Library is at the center of the UB campus. Overlooking the Long Island Sound, the Library offers comfortable, open and varied spaces for study, collaboration, computing, reflection, relaxing, or even having a coffee and pastry before class. Staffed by professional librarians 7 days a week and offering 68 PCs and 100+ Docking Stations, students and faculty can not only find the most sophisticated search tools available for today’s research needs, but assistance using the rich collection of databases, ejournals, ebooks, and streaming video content.

The combination of skilled and caring Library staff, dynamic collections, abundant hours, and an attractive 18,000 sq. ft. Learning Commons all contribute to our students’ success.

Through our Information Literacy Program, the Library is committed to preparing today’s Internet-raised students to be tomorrow’s information literate professionals who excel in the workplace.

The 24/7 Wahlstrom Library Platform acts as a one-stop delivery mechanism of information much in the way that Google delivers information found on the web. Easy to find and use, the Digital Library holds a place center screen on the University portal and is accessed from anywhere in the world over the Internet with no additional logins or passwords needed — on or off-campus.

This suite of Discovery and Link Resolving Tools works with our 80+ electronic databases from the most distinguished content providers in the industry to allow users to search multiple products at a time (including both books, articles, video, and more) and link to full text content across platforms. When our library doesn’t have a full-text item available, our system pre-populates an order form for online document delivery.

Mobile device support is also prominent for those accessing resources from their tablets, phones, or other smaller screen devices and both customized web-based tutorials and real time virtual research assistance are available 7 days a week.

Whether sitting in the Café exchanging ideas with fellow students and professors, or surfing our electronic resources from your tablet, the Wahlstrom Library provides a wealth of resources to the University community.
