Donating Items

The Wahlstrom Library welcomes donations of library items (books and/or DVD’s, not journals) from faculty, students, alumni, and the general public.

Leisure reading items like paperbacks can be left on the Leave a Book, Take a Book shelves surrounding the Café Scribe food service.

The addition of specific items to the collection is contingent upon approval by subject liaison librarians or the technical services librarian. We are especially interested in newer items in engineering, technology, computer science, and health science subject areas. We ask that items being considered for donation are clean, without rips, tears, extensive highlighting, and have unbroken covers/bindings.

The library reserves the right to re-donate or offer freely items that do not meet the acquisition criteria. Items not selected for the collection and determined to be of value may be placed on the Leave a Book, Take a Book shelves located on the first floor of Wahlstrom Library.

If you would like a letter from the University acknowledging your donation, please leave your name and address with the staff at the Information Desk on the 1st floor to whom you give the donation.

For more information or to speak with staff about possible donations, please send an e-mail to reference@bridgeport.edu or call 203-576-4747 from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.
