APA (American Psychological Association) – Based in Washington, DC, the American Psychological Association (APA), founded in 1892, is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States.
Enpsychlopedia – Similar to the search engine Wikipedia, Enpsychlopedia provides a simple searching interface for psychology-specific topics. The database behind the search includes over 40,000 psychology related internet resources.
NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health) – The NIMH website provides information on research initiatives in mental health, including project funding and research training. There is a section that is dedicated solely to grant development, how to apply for funding and the application and review process. Information on career development in the mental health field, small business research programs, professional meetings and conventions is also provided.
PsychCentral – This website provides mental health and psychology resources that are available online. Topics covered include attention deficit disorder, depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, and eating disorders. Also included is a searching interface for locating a therapist in local areas.
Connecticut Dept. of Health – Psychologist Licensure site – The CT DPH site for licensure requirement and application.
Eastern Psychological Association – The Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) was founded in 1896 and is the oldest of the regional Psychological Associations in the United States. Its goal is to promote the science of psychology and professional standards of this discipline through the dissemination of academic research and information.
Psychology.org (How to become a psychologist) – A site to look for degree programs and to review different disciplines within psychology, and the possible career approaches within this field.
Cogprints – An archive of papers in the fields of psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science and more. Developed through the University of Southampton, U.K., and known as a self-archive site.
