BMC – research in progress (part of Springer Nature) – An open-access site for peer-reviewed journals.

Biomedical Engineering Society – BMES seeks to provide support to individuals in the profession. From the website mission statement, “The Mission of the BMES is to build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions; promote education and professional development; and integrate the perspectives of the academic, medical, governmental, and business sectors.”

Resources for Students – National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering – Part of a NIH funded website presence, this division provides resources for students, teachers, and the general public. A link to a career website is also included.

IEEE EMBS – Part of IEEE’s presence on the Internet, this is IEEE’s “Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society”. Included is a link to IEEE Pulse, an electonic news magazine source for developments in the field of medical engineering. A career center link is also included.

Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) – A non-profit professional organization existing for over 100 years dedicated to “the promotion, development and delivery of excellence in biomedical science – supporting our members through training, education and professional development and setting quality standards for our profession.”
